***Please feel free to forward this newsletter to friends and/or post at romance-friendly places such as bookstores and on the Internet. Thank you for your support!*** Dear friends and family~ First off, a big WELCOME to all of my new newsletter subscribers! I enjoyed meeting many of you last month at the Chocolate Affaire in Arizona and the Queen Mary Scottish Games here in California. Thank you so much for attending! Thanks also to all of you not-so-new subscribers who made the effort to stop by and say "hi" again -- visiting with readers I've met before is always a special pleasure. I've posted some new appearance dates on my website, and I hope to see many more of you as the year wears on. A few tidbits to share...I received the happy news today that ROSE is a finalist for Romance Writers Ink's 2004 "More Than Magic" award in the Best Historical category. Yay! Also, I FINALLY (whew!) finished typing up the v-e-r-y long travelogue detailing my family's 17-day trip last summer to the East Coast of the United States. If you enjoy reading such things, you can find it on my site...just go to http://www.LaurenRoyal.com and click where it says "Travelogue" on the left-hand menu. And, last but not least, I was interviewed recently by Romance Junkies, so if you're interested in reading that, you can find it at http://www.romancejunkies.com/artman/publish/article_1057.shtml. My newest ROSE contest winner is Roberta Cooksey of Waldorf, Maryland. Congratulations, Roberta! As for the rest of you, this is the LAST month of the ROSE contest, so if you haven't entered yet, click on over to http://www.LaurenRoyal.com to see a picture of the prize (a solid 14k gold necklace!), read an excerpt of ROSE, and get your name into the drawing. (But if you've already entered, please don't enter again. One entry lasts for all of the drawings, and duplicates are eliminated.) If you enjoy owning autographed books, don't forget to enter the Signet Treasure Hunt every month. The hunt is a fun and challenging online search, and the prize is always several books from various authors (including one from me, of course!). You can find the Treasure Hunt at http://SignetNAL.home.att.net. And for those of you who really love entering contests, the Rising Stars of Romance -- a large and varied group of authors (including me again!) -- just launched a brand-new site with a contest page linking to over 20 different contests. My son Brent designed the site, and I think it's fabulous (not that I'm prejudiced or anything <grin>). Check it out at http://risingstars.novelauthors.com. Next month I'll be announcing a new contest to replace the ROSE contest (hmm, guess I'd better start thinking about what it should be!). Until then, Happy Reading!
